Charging For Your Heart's Purpose
You want to do what you love for the rest of your life.
You want to help people be the best they can be and you want to leave the world better than how you found it. You want to manifest the absolute best you have to offer. You know it’s in there. You want to make it real. This may sound contradictory to your intent of bringing your purest self to the world, but to give your dream legs, to make sure you can continue to contribute your gifts to the world, you need to charge for them.
The business aspect of your dreams may worry you, or turn you off completely. But the fact is that making your calling your business is the way to make it last a lifetime and impact the most people possible. Your impulse may be to make your services free or cheap because, in your mind, they reach the most amount of people that way. But if you can’t pay the bills, you’ll have to dedicate a substantial amount of your time to a job that does. Ask yourself, are you truly making the broadest, most transformative impact you can if most of your time is tied up in other commitments?
Consider if it makes more sense to follow the path of the soulpreneur and make a business out of what you love.
Many people fear charging for what they do because they either feel that they are not good enough or that doing so muddies up their good intentions. Neither is true. You are good enough. You are worth it!
If you’re giving yourself in the most authentic way you can, there’s no way you’re not good enough. And charging for your gifts is the best way to make sure you can continue to give them. If you go out of business, you can’t help people. If you don’t make your calling pay your bills, you can’t give the best of you to the world. Value yourself, charge for your gifts, and make sure you can keep helping people all your life by making your passion a sustainable business.
